The Cantina Beach Valentine’s Chocolate Buffet is back… and it’s bigger and better than ever. French Pastry Chef Patrick Lassaque is prepping the menu for a lavish dessert spread dedicated entirely to the favorite aphrodisiac combined with other “lovable” ingredients including rose, lychee, almonds, coffee and more. Last year’s buffet incorporated more than 60 pounds of chocolate, and this year’s is expected to double that size, spanning the entire 20-foot bar area of the oceanfront, Coastal Mexican-inspired Cantina Beach restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. Chef Patrick’s signature desserts include stunning showpieces of chocolate flowers and other tropical sculptures that are entirely edible. The buffet takes place on Valentine’s Day from 7-10pm. The experience is an incredible value at $22 per person and includes a complimentary glass of Agavero, a delicious tequila liqueur of 100% Reposado and Añejo Tequilas hand-blended with the essence of Damiana Flower. The flower is indigenous to the mountains of Jalisco, Mexico and has also been known to possess special aphrodisiacal powers. Should couples like to share dinner beforehand, the a la carte menu of authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by Chef de Cuisine and Chiapas-native Andres Parlange prepare the palate for this ultimate chocolate indulgence, while Tequilier Heriberto Oviedo is on hand to make pairing recommendations from the high-end selection of 85 100% agave tequilas. The restaurant’s oceanfront setting complete with plush lounge area, fire pit, dim colored lighting and acoustic music will have couples feel as if they’re along the romantic Coasts of Mexico, rather six miles from Downtown Miami.
