Part of the 2024 Miami Book Fair, this event features works by authors Diannely Antigua, Merle Collins and Geoffrey Philp, each offering unique perspectives on the Caribbean experience.
Antigua’s Good Monster delves into trauma, chronic pain and mental illness through raw, innovative poetry. Collins’ Ocean Stirrings honors Louise Langdon Norton Little, mother of Malcolm X, blending history and imagination to bring her story to light. Philp’s graphic novel My Name is Marcus introduces readers to Marcus Garvey, the iconic Jamaican leader who inspired a global movement for social justice. Moderated by poet and radio host Sharon Corinthian, this panel offers thought-provoking insights into the history, heroes and healing that continue to shape the Caribbean.
