Camillus House and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) Hosted Exclusive Fundraiser Dinner Experience at Hyatt Regency Downtown
MIAMI (July 31, 2024) – On Tuesday, July 30, The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), along with Camillus House, the Hyatt Regency Downtown Miami and beloved celebrity chefs hosted an exclusive fundraising dinner experience to launch the 23rd annual Miami Spice Restaurant Months program.
“This year's Miami Spice promises unforgettable dining experiences while also contributing to the well-being of our community,” says David Whitaker, President & CEO of the GMCVB. “Partnering with Camillus House allows us to not only celebrate our vibrant culinary scene but also support a cause that is close to our hearts. By bringing together renowned chefs and the community, we are able to make a significant impact on the lives of those facing homelessness in our community.”
The event raised $25K in tickets sales all to support programs at Camillus House and raise critical funds for families, youth, veterans and others grappling with homelessness. Each year, Camillus House serves more than 9,000 individuals in need by feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and providing housing for the homeless. Through its services, the organization addresses immediate needs and provides tools, guidance, and a pathway to help clients create a better future.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of the GMCVB and the talented chefs who have come together for this special event,” says Eddie Gloria, Acting CEO of Camillus House. “The funds raised tonight will directly support our efforts to provide essential services, shelter, and hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Together, we are making a meaningful difference and creating a brighter future for the most vulnerable in South Florida.”
Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and a delicious three-course meal from renowned local Chef Robert Allum of Riverview Bar & Grill, Chef Amaris Jones of Chick'N Jones, and Chef Jimmy Almeida of Bagatelle Miami. The carefully curated menu featured a Forest Mushroom Pithivier with grilled gem lettuce, artichoke heart and black truffle dressing appetizer prepared by Chef Robert Allum, followed by a Crispy Honey Truffle Chicken with roasted cauliflower puree, okra char, and collard oil for the entree created by Chef Amaris Jones and ending with Chef Jimmy Almeida’s iconic Tropézienne dessert made with madagascar vanilla.
Now in its 23rd year, Miami Spice Restaurant Months invites locals and visitors to indulge in Miami’s finest eateries, enjoying prix fixe, three-course meals for just $30 or $35 for lunch and brunch, and $45 or $60 for dinner.
