Seraphic Fire, Florida's Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble, kicks off their 2024-2025 season with A Brief History of Western Music at the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables on Thursday, October 10.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Patrick Dupre Quigley, this concert offers a whirlwind exploration of musical eras, from the austere beauty of Medieval chant to the innovative sounds of Contemporary compositions. Hear the contrasts and connections between styles as you journey through time with the chorus, period keyboard instruments and viola da gamba.
The program includes a diverse selection of works by renowned composers, including Gregorio Allegri, Hildegard von Bingen, Guillaume Dufay, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Claudio Monteverdi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn and Igor Stravinsky.
