Using Public Transportation in Miami
Whether you’re driving or flying, getting to Greater Miami & Miami Beach is a breeze. Once you’re here, you’ll have many transportation options for exploring Miami.
Miami sits alongside Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean near the southern tip of Florida. If you’re coming by car, you’ll approach Miami on Interstate 95 or Interstate 75. By air, you’ll come through Miami International Airport – named in 2021 as the best mega airport in North America for passenger satisfaction by J.D. Power.
Once you get here, you’ll find it’s easy to get out and explore Miami’s diverse neighborhoods and attractions. Rent a car or hire a taxi, rideshare or private car – even a DecoBike or scooter. Or get around on public transportation like the locals do. Hop on the Metrorail elevated rapid transit system at the airport and head out to your destination near one of its 23 accessible stations. Catch an air-conditioned trolley or the Metrobus to get around, or scoot through Downtown Miami and Brickell on the Metromover automated people mover system. Connect with the Brightline intercity rail system to head out to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and beyond.
