AfriKin: Black History Month with Mutabaruka

In celebration of Black History Month and in alignment with the national theme of "African Americans and the Arts," Afrikin presents an evening with the legendary Jamaican dub poet and radio talk show host, Mutabaruka, on Sunday, February 18 at the Scott Galvin Community Center. AfriKin: Perspectives, Poetry & Prose will feature a showcase of Mutabaruka's evocative poems, thought-provoking social commentaries and performances. This special occasion will also feature a youth reading tribute of Vaughn Benjamin's Koll Pekude.
In addition to his renowned stature as a poet, Mutabaruka is widely recognized as the dynamic host of Jamaica's hit radio programs, "Steppin Razor" and "The Cutting Edge." He is also celebrated as a talented musician, actor, author and educator. With his global influence and multifaceted accomplishments, Mutabaruka serves as an exemplary role model, embodying the essence of African-American cultural impact across diverse artistic realms.
