Enjoy an evening of piano artistry at the Miami Beach Woman’s Club as part of the Miami International Piano Festival Academy Concert Series. On Thursday, January 9, Spanish-Dutch pianist Albert Cano Smit will take the stage to perform a program featuring Mozart’s Sonata in C minor, K.457, Ligeti’s Études and Schubert’s Wanderer Fantaisie, Op. 15.
Praised as “a moving young poet” (Le Devoir), Cano Smit has earned an international reputation for his nuanced interpretations. A winner of the 2019 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, Smit has graced prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Europe’s Rheingau Music Festival. With a passion for both classical repertoire and contemporary works, Cano Smit has premiered numerous compositions, further solidifying his role as a versatile and forward-thinking artist.
Admission to this performance is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Presented with the support of the City of Miami Beach, this concert is part of a weeklong celebration of distinguished faculty from the Miami International Piano Festival Winter Academy.
