Join the Miami Book Fair for an evening commemorating 50 years of creative freedom in Portuguese literature on Thursday, November 21. This event explores the profound impact the Carnation Revolution had on Portuguese literature, delving into how it influenced a new generation of post-revolution writers. Distinguished authors José Luís Peixoto, recipient of the 2001 José Saramago Award, and Judite Canha Fernandes, acclaimed poet and novelist, will share their insights, with moderation by Ricardo Vasconcelos, Ph.D., from San Diego State University. The evening will open with a contemporary dance and spoken-word performance by Arte Total, followed by a Taste of Portugal networking session featuring Portuguese wine and delicacies.
