Fri-Sat: 8:30 PM | Sun: 6:00 PM
The Display Miami Stage Fest presents an exploration of identity, society and the role of theater with a play by Cuban playwright Rogelio Orizondo. Ayer Deje de Matarme (Yesterday I Stopped Killing Myself) makes its U.S. debut at the Sandrell Rivers Theater from January 24 to 26. Adapted and directed by Erom Jimmy, the production features an ensemble cast including Lili Rentería, Juan David Ferrer, Lester Martínez, Gretell Barreiro and Kiara Lemus. The intimate staging draws audiences into an immersive experience, blurring the lines between reality and performance as raw, emotional confessions unfold.
This Spanish-language play anchors the festival, which also includes a post-performance discussion with the playwright on Opening Night, January 24, at 6 p.m., and a masterclass on independent theater and dramaturgy by renowned Cuban actress and researcher Antonia Fernandez on January 25 at 3 p.m. (separate ticket required). Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with thought-provoking storytelling and a broader conversation about contemporary theater.
