On Sunday, September 29, internationally acclaimed pianist Boris Berman will perform at Newman Recital Hall. Recognized for his exceptional technique and deep commitment to stylistic integrity, Berman has captivated audiences worldwide with his artistry.
The program includes Schubert's Four Impromptus, Op. 142, showcasing the composer's lyrical and expressive style, and Debussy's Suite Bergamasque and Estampes, which highlight the French composer's impressionistic use of color and atmosphere.
Born in Moscow, Berman trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and established a distinguished career in the Soviet Union before immigrating to Israel in 1973. His performances have since spanned the globe, featuring collaborations with leading orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. Berman is also a highly respected educator, currently serving as the head of the Piano Department at the Yale School of Music, as well as inspiring the next generation of pianists through his master classes.
