Classical music lovers are in for a treat as the Chopin for All concert series concludes its season with a free performance by rising star pianist Mateusz Krzyżowski. This event, presented by the Chopin Foundation of the United States, takes place on Sunday, May 19 at the Granada Church in Coral Gables.
Krzyżowski is a young Polish pianist with a string of accolades to his name. He is the winner of the 2022 Paderewski Competition and a semi-finalist at the prestigious 2021 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. The program features a selection of works by Polish composers Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski and the legendary Fryderyk Chopin himself.
Program Highlights
The concert showcases Krzyżowski's talent with a diverse program featuring:
- Works by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, including Mélodie, Nocturne, and Legend.
- Etudes by Karol Szymanowski.
- A selection of Chopin's pieces, including the Scherzo in B flat minor, Ballade in G minor, Nocturne in C minor and the virtuosic Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante.
This Chopin for All concert is free and open to the public. Seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Granada Church is wheelchair accessible, and the program is suitable for families with children (parental supervision recommended). Free parking is available around the church property on Bird Road and University Drive.
