Join the Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) and Miami Botanical Garden, with support from Miami Beach Rising Above, for a unique learning experience on Friday, September 13.
This Coastal Conservation Education Workshop takes place at North Beach Oceanside Park from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Embark on a guided nature walk through the park's tropical hammock and beach dunes, led by knowledgeable experts. Learn about the importance of coastal conservation and the biodiversity of these unique ecosystems.
What to expect:
- Discover the diverse plant and animal life found in the park's hammock and dunes.
- Gain insights into the crucial role of native plants in maintaining healthy dunes and protecting the coastline from storms.
- Participate in a BioBlitz using the iNaturalist app to document the flora and fauna encountered during the walk.
Closed toe shoes are recommended. Volunteers are encouraged to bring sun protection, reusable water bottle, snacks, hat and sunscreen.
