OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival presents a thought-provoking narrative exploring the boundaries between friendship, attraction and psychological intervention. Lillies Not for Me screens at O Cinema South Beach on Tuesday, March 25, offering audiences a compelling story about a gay novelist and his psychiatric nurse who develop a bond during doctor-ordered "dates."
The film follows their complex relationship as they recount a friendship that spiraled when the characters turned to a risky procedure attempting to cure themselves of their feelings for each other. This screening provides an opportunity for meaningful reflection on identity, connection and the sometimes-desperate measures people take to conform to societal expectations.
