From: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Discover the origins of culinary excellence at a working farm where fresh ingredients become award-winning cuisine. Cultural Encounter: From Farm-to-Table at Rancho Patel takes place on Sunday, April 6, offering visitors a rare glimpse into Chef Niven Patel's agricultural sanctuary.
Presented by HistoryMiami Museum, this intimate experience invites guests to explore the two-acre Homestead property where Chef Patel, a Michelin awardee and James Beard Semi-Finalist, cultivates the foundation for his celebrated restaurant dishes. Participants will join the chef for a guided tour through the farm's diverse cultivation areas while learning about the complete agricultural cycle from seed selection to harvest techniques.
The tour highlights how South Florida's distinctive climate and growing conditions influence Chef Patel's culinary approach across his local restaurant portfolio. Guests will engage with the farm through sensory experiences—touching herbs, smelling freshly picked produce and tasting seasonal fruits, vegetables and edible flowers grown on-site. The experience also includes sampling freshly prepared bites featuring the day's harvest.
Families with children ages 6 and older are welcome. Due to the intimate nature of the experience, advance registration is required and attendance is limited to 20 participants.
