A pioneering voice in contemporary jazz brings his innovative fusion of Afro-Caribbean traditions and electronic soundscapes to the Coral Gables Museum. The Santiago de Cuba-born musician, celebrated for his ability to bridge traditional and avant-garde musical expressions, will take the stage for a solo show that demonstrates his distinctive approach to composition and improvisation. Virelles, a recipient of the Herb Alpert Award, has recently performed at Carnegie and received rave reviews from the New York Times.

His program includes selections from his award-winning repertoire as well as innovative interpretations of classic Cuban compositions.
