FSQ & Friends MMW Edition
This event has passed.
Get in the groove with an evening of funk-infused dance music and eclectic DJ sets. FSQ & Friends MMW Edition takes place on Wednesday, March 26, at Gramps. This free event (with RSVP) brings together a lineup of artists including FSQ with Chuck Da Fonk of Soul Clap Records, The Love Tempo featuring Padraic Carey and Brad Strickland, and Jose Matos from Play Nice.
Sponsored by Reyka Vodka and Milagro Tequila, this Miami Music Week gathering showcases the musical expertise of FSQ, a five-person production team with connections to funk pioneer George Clinton. The collective includes resident DJ Chuck Da Fonk (Chuck Fishman), keyboardist/producer Morgan Wiley, guitarist Tate Masimore, multi-instrumentalist One Era and hip-hop producer G Koop.
Attendees can expect sets that span deep Balearic grooves, rare P-Funk B-sides, '80s boogie funk, new wave 12-inches and contemporary underground house. Since their formation in 2013 and their debut release Zulu Congo Call in 2014, FSQ has established themselves through remixes for notable artists and original productions on respected labels. This 21+ event offers Miami Music Week participants an opportunity to experience authentic funk-forward dance music in an intimate setting.
