Bito David’s My Haitian Neighbor: A Cultural Handshake offers a heartfelt guide to understanding Haiti’s rich heritage, bridging gaps between Haitian and non-Haitian communities. Hervé Fanini-Lemoine’s Forgotten Essentials explores Haiti’s ongoing political and social struggles, questioning the potential for real progress. Lyonel Gerdes’ Miami, Florida: A Sunshine State’s Unauthorized and Unredacted Journey - A Memoir reveals the complexities of life in Miami’s Haitian community through investigative storytelling. Daniel-Gérard Rouzier’s Mémoires d’un Fou provides a vivid historical novel about Haiti’s turbulent past. Moderated by Carel Pedre from Chokarella, the discussion will be held in Haitian Creole with English interpretation.
