La Celestina, Tragicomedia de Lita
This event has passed.
A classic Spanish tale gets a modern twist. The Adrienne Arsht Center is hosting La Celestina, Tragicomedia de Lita (Lita's Tragicomedy of Celestina) as part of Teatro Avante's 38th International Hispanic Theater Festival of Miami. This innovative take on a classic Spanish story runs from July 26-28.
The performance, presented by Rey Marciali Producciones from Córdoba, Argentina, is an adaptation of Fernando de Rojas' "La Celestina" by David Piccotto and Julieta Daga, with Piccotto also directing. In this production, Lita, the central character, struggles to hold up a collapsing set, a metaphor for the fragility of life's circumstances. With her strength waning, Lita's journey is a blend of laughter, tears, and perseverance until the very end.
Please note, the production may contain mature language and is performed entirely in Spanish.
