Love The Everglades Clean-Up
Feb 16, 2025
From: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Join a community-driven effort to protect and restore one of South Florida’s most vital ecosystems. On Sunday, February 16, from 2 to 6 p.m., Love The Everglades Clean-Up 2025, hosted by the Love The Everglades Movement, brings volunteers together for an afternoon of environmental stewardship and education.
Participants will meet at the Miccosukee Casino & Resort before caravanning to the designated clean-up site. The event focuses on removing garbage and invasive plants while providing hands-on education about Everglades conservation. Open to all ages, this initiative welcomes individuals and groups, with opportunities to earn community service hours.
Love The Everglades Movement will supply gloves, garbage bags and cold water for refills, but participants are encouraged to bring reusable water containers and wear closed-toed shoes suitable for outdoor work. In addition to the clean-up, the event highlights Salvage Art, inviting artists to repurpose reclaimed materials into sculptures, instruments and other creations.
Love The Everglades Movement combines environmental education with arts and spirituality, emphasizing indigenous environmental priorities and diverse community engagement in protecting the Everglades.
