The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts presents Marionetas de la Esquina: Learning and Forgetting, an engaging theatrical experience for families. This heartwarming production takes place on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29 with showtimes at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day in the Carnival Studio Theater.
Written by award-winning playwright Amaranta Leyva and inspired by her own family experiences, Learning and Forgetting tells the story of young Eva and her bond with her grandfather. As Eva embraces learning new words and ideas, her grandfather experiences memory loss. Despite this, Eva and Grandpa engage in playful moments, weaving stories together in the present. Through play, laughter and puppetry, the show explores themes of intergenerational love, finding joy in the present and the importance of understanding across life stages.
Audiences can enjoy performances in both English and Spanish.
