Matheson Hammock Coastal Cleanup
Through Mar 22, 2025
monthly on the 4th Saturday
From: 9:00 AM to Noon
Contribute to the health of Miami’s coastal ecosystem by volunteering at Matheson Hammock Park. Organized by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, the Matheson Hammock Coastal Cleanup occurs on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Note that from October to December, the schedule may shift to avoid holiday conflicts—please review the schedule before registering.
Supported by BLUE Missions, this effort combines environmental stewardship with a mission to promote sustainable access to clean water and sanitation while fostering global citizenship. Volunteers will assist with removing microplastics and trash, pulling exotic plant species and completing other tasks as needed.
Youth under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants should arrive on time and check in with park staff. Please bring a refillable water bottle, wear closed-toed shoes and prepare for the sun with sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves or reusable buckets if available. Community service hours are offered and will be emailed upon request following the event.
