Enter the magical world of myths and legends with HistoryMiami Museum's newest exhibition Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids, on display from Saturday, July 8 through Sunday, March 31, 2024. Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids traces the natural and cultural roots of some of the world’s most enduring mythological creatures from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond. This captivating exhibition includes life-size models of legendary creatures such as the kraken, whose 12-foot-long tentacles appear to rise out of the floor of the gallery as if surfacing from the sea. The exhibit also features paintings and textiles, along with cultural objects from around the world, that bring to light surprising similarities and differences in the ways humans have drawn inspiration from nature to envision and depict these strange and wonderful creatures.
