Discover the interconnected world of fungi, insects and Earth's natural wonders during an adults-only evening of scientific exploration. nightLAB: Nature Unleashed takes over the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science on Wednesday, April 2, offering an after-hours experience for guests 21 and older.
Your evening will be packed with exciting activities from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with all museum exhibitions open for exploration, including the Bugs exhibit. The Frost Planetarium presents UniVERSE, a poetic short film exploring South Florida's natural environments, created in collaboration with O, Miami as part of the 2025 O, Miami Poetry Festival. You can also enjoy the award-winning Fungi: Web of Life, narrated by Björk, on the giant screen (reserve your 30-minute experience onsite, as availability is limited).
Throughout the night, engage with fascinating presentations including Dino Drama: Display and Courtship in the Cretaceous with Dr. Cary Woodruff, Frost Science's Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology. Meet the museum's ambassador raptors during a 10-minute experience showcasing the Biological Programs Department, and head to the rooftop terrace for telescope viewing of the full Moon, Jupiter, and other celestial objects (weather permitting).
Additional hands-on experiences include composting science with Compost for Life Miami, an interactive science trivia competition with live experiments, coral conservation exploration with 3D modeling (45-minute experience), nocturnal coral and fish biofluorescence demonstrations and wild animal encounters with the Zoo Miami Foundation.
Visitors can engage with community partners while enjoying food and drinks throughout the museum spaces. This after-hours event is presented by the Miami Downtown Development Authority. Member tickets are available at $15 per person for up to four guests. The museum's onsite parking garage offers limited spaces at an $18 flat rate, with all vehicles required to exit by 1:00 a.m.
