NWSA Film Screening: 2025 Impressions
This event has passed.
Experience the creative intersection of historic architecture and contemporary filmmaking through the lens of emerging artists. 2025 Impressions, a film screening presented by New World School of the Arts (NWSA) in partnership with Deering Estate and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, takes place on Sunday, February 16. The screening showcases short films created by students in the Fall 2024 film class, who utilized both historic estates as their cinematic canvas. Under the guidance of professors Alisa Pitchenik Charles and Tony Fernandez, these films span multiple genres including horror, comedy and sci-fi, while seamlessly blending the distinctive environments of both locations. The works were developed through NWSA's ART+TECH program, where students explored Downtown Miami and both estates to craft their narratives.
This free event requires advance RSVP. The screening will be held in the Deering Estate Visitor Center Theater, offering attendees an opportunity to witness how these emerging filmmakers interpret and merge the artistic legacy of the Deering brothers through a contemporary lens.
