Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing 2024
This event has passed.
Experience a day of special programming, dedicated to exploring the science and history of eclipses, on Monday, April 8 at the Frost Planetarium and throughout the museum.
April's eclipse is a total solar eclipse, a celestial event occurring when the Moon aligns perfectly with the Sun, momentarily blocking its view from Earth. While Miami will witness it as a partial solar eclipse, the spectacle promises to captivate. Commencing at 1:47 p.m., the eclipse will peak at 3:01 p.m., obscuring 45% of the Sun's disk, before concluding at 4:13 p.m.
During this period, attendees can witness the partial solar eclipse using solar viewers or procure their own pair of solar eclipse glasses, available for purchase at the Science Store. Stay tuned for the complete schedule of activities.
Access to the museum rooftop (Level 6) will be exclusively reserved for active Frost Science members, on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to weather conditions.
