The Frost Symphony Orchestra kicks off its Centennial Season on Saturday, September 21, with an exciting program featuring works by renowned American composers, Charles Griffes and John Corigliano, alongside Johannes Brahms.
The concert opens with Griffes' The White Peacock, an orchestral work that showcases the composer's Impressionistic style. This piece was completed in 1915, just before Griffes' untimely passing.
Next, the orchestra presents the Florida premiere of John Corigliano's Triathlon, a challenging concerto for saxophone and orchestra. Joining the Frost Symphony Orchestra for this performance is Timothy McAllister, a celebrated classical saxophonist known for his virtuosity. The concert concludes with Brahms' iconic Second Symphony, a staple of the orchestral repertoire.
