Helena Gomez, Vizcaya’s Curator, and Julio Capó Jr., FIU Associate Professor and Vizcaya’s inaugural Scholar-in-Residence, will lead the conversation. Topics include the inclusivity of queer communities in Miami during Chalfin’s time, the challenges of researching LGBTQ+ history, and the broader significance of LGBTQ+ historical narratives for institutions like Vizcaya. The discussion will also highlight Chalfin’s contributions to Vizcaya’s artistic legacy and his unique perspective as a designer and visionary.
