From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Celebrate scholarship and artistry at a festive evening reception honoring the winners of Miami's oldest continuously running cultural tradition, the Royal Poinciana Fiesta. The Poinciana Fiesta Celebration Party & Highwaymen Artist Exhibition takes place Sunday, June 8 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, marking the 88th year of Miami's oldest continuously running festival.
The evening begins with trolley tours of Fairchild's grounds at 6 p.m., followed by refreshments including the signature Royal Poinciana Punch at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., guests will witness the presentation of scholarships to the 2024 Royal Poinciana Fiesta Queen and Court, as well as the Larry Schokman Book Award, with poinciana cake served afterward to commemorate the occasion.
Art enthusiasts will appreciate the special exhibition featuring Royal Poinciana-inspired works by renowned Key West Bahamian-Conch artist Roy Rolston, curated by his daughter Michelle, who will be in attendance. Limited edition Royal Poinciana Fiesta posters will also be available for purchase.
While this event is free and open to the public, guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share or make a donation. The Tropical Flowering Tree Society welcomes new memberships during the event. Visitors should note that parking is available at Fairchild's South Entrance on Old Cutler Road, the traditional entrance to the garden.
