Through Feb 06, 2025
weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Multiple event times
Regina Jestrow's geometric quilts tell stories of family bonds and cultural identity through a dazzling array of hand-dyed fabrics and repurposed textiles. Regina Jestrow: Lots of Little Pieces (aka My Favorite Color is Glitter) transforms Miami-Dade College's Kendall Campus Art Gallery into a kaleidoscope of personal history from January 9 through February 6.
Curated by Dainy Tapia of ArtSeen365, the exhibition features large-scale art quilts that blend traditional patterns with contemporary design, drawing inspiration from the artist's Queens, New York roots and her family's affinity for all things sparkly. Jestrow's work incorporates an eclectic mix of materials, from hand-painted fabrics to deconstructed party dresses, sourced from thrift shops, friends and family members.
Visitors can experience this unique intersection of personal narrative and textile artistry Monday through Saturday during the following hours:
- Monday: Noon to 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: Noon to 7:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 9 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Noon to 4 p.m.
The exhibition will observe Miami Dade College's holiday schedule.
