Reimagined: An FIU Student Showcase
Nov 21, 2024
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Explore fresh perspectives at Reimagined: An FIU Student Showcase on Thursday, November 21, at The Wolfsonian-FIU on Miami Beach. FIU students present creative interpretations of the museum’s current exhibitions, HEARST: Lampooning the King of Yellow Journalism and The Big World: Alternative Landscapes in the Modern Era, offering a new lens on these provocative themes.
From 6-9 p.m., engage with hands-on activities in the museum lobby, where Wolfsonian interns and graduate assistants will guide a newspaper collage activity inspired by William Randolph Hearst's sensationalist style. Guests can also enjoy live music by the FIU Jazz Ensemble, from 7-8 p.m.. Inside the galleries, immerse yourself in a collection of creative writings curated by Professor John Bailly’s Honors College students in the debut of Student Views. Their work explores the diverse landscapes of The Big World exhibit, enhancing the experience with narrative depth and fresh insights.
Evening's schedule:
- 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Newspaper Collage Activity
- 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tour of The Big World
- 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Performance by FIU Jazz Ensemble
