From: 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Enjoy an evening under the stars at the Miami Beach Bandshell with a program of films that explore the intersection of dance and storytelling. Part of the ScreenDance Miami 2025 festival lineup, this event on Wednesday, January 22, features a thoughtfully curated selection of works, including the world premiere of Beyond the Plaques and the acclaimed documentary Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music.
The evening begins with Beyond the Plaques (2024), a 14-minute film from the United Kingdom commissioned by English Heritage and the National Youth Ballet. This piece uses movement and narrative to bring the stories of four female pioneers to life. The program continues with Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music (2024), a 106-minute documentary that captures the theatrical grandeur of Taylor Mac’s 24-hour performance, reimagining U.S. history through popular music and stunning costumes.
Presented by Miami Light Project and curated by Pioneer Winter, this open-air event offers a unique opportunity to experience the artistry of dance through the medium of film.
