Mar 11, 2025
Starting: 7:30 PM
A masterwork of sacred music pairs with one of classical music's most celebrated symphonies in an evening dedicated to Mozart's genius. The South Florida Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart's Requiem on Tuesday, March 11 at the New World Center.
Under the direction of Maestra Sebrina Alfonso, the program features Mozart's final composition, the Requiem Mass, performed by the South Florida Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The ensemble is joined by distinguished soloists Katherine Henly (soprano), Maggie Reneé (mezzo-soprano), Norman Shankle (tenor) and Neil Nelson (bass-baritone). The evening also includes Mozart's Symphony No. 40, known for its innovative structure and emotional depth.
The Requiem, completed in the last year of Mozart's life, combines powerful choral passages with intricate orchestral writing to create one of classical music's most enduring masterpieces.
