Immerse yourself in an evening of poetry at The Betsy's Library, where acclaimed poets will share their distinct perspectives in an intimate setting. Hosted by SWWIM (Supporting Women Writers in Miami), SWWIM Poetry features Krysten Hill and Denise Duhamel, along with special guest Julie Marie Wade, for a free reading on Thursday, January 30
Krysten Hill, author of How Her Spirit Got Out, brings her award-winning work, which has appeared in Poetry Magazine and The Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day Series. Hill has received numerous accolades, including the Jean Pedrick Chapbook Prize and the Mass Cultural Council Poetry Fellowship. Denise Duhamel, a celebrated poet and Guggenheim Fellow, will also take the stage. Known for works such as Second Story and Pink Lady, Duhamel’s career includes recognition from the National Book Critics Circle and the NEA.
The evening also features Julie Marie Wade, author of 21 volumes spanning poetry, prose and hybrid forms, including the recent nonfiction novella The Mary Years. A Lambda Literary Award winner, Wade’s collaborative work with Duhamel has earned acclaim for its inventive approach to verse.
Admission is free. The Betsy Hotel is a family-owned and operated luxury resort hotel located on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
