Explore the history of Black Coconut Grove through engaging talks with community elders and be among the first to experience Season 2 of "The Rich and Forgotten History of Black Coconut Grove Podcast." Celebrate artistic expression with Women of Washington Avenue, a mixed-media exhibition by Valerie Patterson. This collection honors the lives of ten women who shaped their community from 1926 to 1976, using collage, textiles, and fiber art to reflect on migration, race, class, and the bonds of family and faith.
Dive deeper into local culture with LittleBahamasMiami.com, a digital archive documenting the Goombay Festival and the broader history of Coconut Grove. This resource, created through an American Folklife Center Community Curation Grant, preserves oral histories, photographs, and films in collaboration with Florida International University and the Library of Congress.
Enhance the evening with culinary offerings from the Café and Shop’s after-hours menu or sip on drinks from the pop-up bar on the East Terrace while enjoying picturesque views of Biscayne Bay.
Co-curated with descendants of Black Grove settlers and the GW Carver Alumni Association, Vizcaya Late: Little Bahamas offers an authentic and enriching experience, blending historical exploration with cultural celebration.
