Vizcaya Late: Seersucker Social
Mar 19, 2025
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Step back in time to an era of glamour, jazz and elegance while exploring one of Miami's most treasured historical gems. Vizcaya Late: Seersucker Social returns to Vizcaya Museum & Gardens on Wednesday, March 19.
This annual celebration invites visitors to don their finest Gatsby-inspired attire—from flapper dresses to classic seersucker suits—and immerse themselves in the opulence of the Gilded Age. Against the backdrop of this National Historic Landmark, guests can enjoy live swing jazz performances by the French Horn Collective on the East Terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay.
The evening offers a variety of engaging activities that capture the spirit of the 1920s. Learn the Charleston and other period dances with instructors from Swing Out South Florida during demonstrations at 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Test your skills with traditional garden games including lawn bowling, croquet and yard dice, or try your luck at bingo inside the Main House for a chance to win Vizcaya merchandise.
For those interested in deepening their historical experience, optional 15-minute guided tours are available for an additional $6. These tours, led by Vizcaya educators, explore the leisure activities enjoyed by James Deering's guests in the early 1920s and depart at 6:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. from the Front Door.
Fashion enthusiasts can participate in the costume contest by having their photo taken at the Cafe Patio before 7:00 p.m., with the winner receiving a complimentary year of Vizcaya Membership. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. on the East Terrace.
Throughout the evening, guests can purchase refreshments from the Vizcaya Café and Shop near the Swimming Pool Grotto, including wine, craft beer and light fare.
Vizcaya Late: Seersucker Social is part of the museum's monthly evening event series, each featuring themes and activities that showcase the estate's beauty after hours.
