Dranoff 2 Piano's annual West African Beats concert series returns to the Miami Beach Bandshell on Sunday, February 11 bringing the masterful trumpet playing of millennial jazz and world music artist Jean Caze. A rising star in the world of jazz, Caze is known for his unique blend of African and Caribbean influences, rooted in his Haitian heritage. Throughout his career, he has graced the stage with notable artists such as Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, and Michael Bublé.
For this performance, Caze will be joined by Latin Grammy-nominee Martin Bejerano and the West African Percussion Jazz Ensemble. Arrive early for a pre-concert talk 30 minutes before the show, featuring insights from Jean Caze, Caribbean/West African musicologist Marvin Butler and Haitian cultural leaders.
