As part of The Contemporary Art Modern Project’s annual exhibition series, Women Pulling at the Threads of Social Discourse centers female voices through textile and fiber artistry, fostering dialogue and community around women’s lived experiences. The series challenges the perception of fiber work as solely "feminine," highlighting its power as a medium for social commentary.
The exhibition also features contributions from the Fiber Artists Miami Association (FAMA), a community-driven organization dedicated to advancing textile traditions and contemporary fiber techniques. Founded in 2020 by Alina Rodriguez Rojo, Aurora Molina, and Evelyn Politzer, FAMA offers workshops, exhibitions and community engagement programs to educate and inspire artists and the public alike. Through their efforts, FAMA has become a vital force in promoting fiber arts both locally and internationally.
