Dive into a morning of ocean-centric activities at the 4th Annual World Ocean Day Celebration. This free event takes place on Saturday, June 8 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at 35th Street Beach in Miami Beach. Show your love for the ocean and be part of a fun and impactful way to celebrate our planet's most valuable resource. Presented by Ocean Bank and organized by Blue Scholars and ARTSail, the celebration features over 20 local and national organizations and artists coming together for a day of community engagement and environmental action.
From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., participate in activities like the 30-minute Ocean Mile Challenge Exhibition Swim or find your inner zen with Pilates on the Beach. Witness a ceremonial paddle-out with Surfrider Miami or introduce younger family members to the ocean through swim instruction with Breathe and Splash Swim School.
Afterwards, from 10 a.m. to noon, lend a helping hand towards a cleaner ocean by participating in a beach cleanup with Clean Miami Beach and The International SeaKeepers Society. Help restore coastal dunes with Surfrider Miami, or gain insights into water quality with Blue Water Task Force and EarthEcho International.
The celebration extends beyond activities with captivating ocean-themed art installations like Tidal Tapestry: Exploring Sea-Life Patterns by Maria Useche and Weaving with Water by Deborah Mitchell.
