Thalatta Estate Park
Outdoor Experiences
Thalatta Estate Park, in the Village of Palmetto Bay in South Dade, offers a peek into Miami’s glamorous past. Named for the Latin variation of the Greek word “thalassa,” which means “the sea,” this coastal park is home to native communities of herons, pelicans and mangroves.
Thalatta Estate
At the heart of the park is Thalatta Estate, a two-story Mediterranean-Revival house from the 1920s. Wander through the fairytale-like property and you’ll find a carriage house, banyan trees, covered terraces, a reflection pool, a waterside promenade and manicured gardens. Inside the house, there is a grand staircase with original Cuban tile floors, a vintage fireplace and a first-floor museum. The house offers stunning views of Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne. Thalatta Estate is fully equipped to host indoor-outdoor weddings and social events, and spaces can be reserved on a first come, first served basis.
Park Amenities
The park itself has large grassy areas, picnic tables, bicycle racks and walking and biking paths. It offers easy access to the Old Cutler Bike Trail. Contact the park ahead of your visit to confirm normal operating hours and amenity availability.
