Come to Kendall for shopping, dining and family fun in a relaxed and inviting suburban environment.
Kendall is an area that’s home to one of the top malls in Greater Miami & Miami Beach, a thriving restaurant scene, golf courses and several family-friendly parks. Easily accessible by the Metrorail transit system, Kendall is about 15 miles southwest of Downtown Miami.
With more than 150 stores, Dadeland Mall is the big draw for many visitors to Kendall. It’s also a dining hot spot that’s home to restaurants such as Texas de Brazil, Earls Kitchen + Bar and CVI.CHE 105.
For a special dining experience, head to the nearby Downtown Dadeland complex and try Ghee Indian Kitchen, recently noted as a “Bib Gourmand” restaurant by the MICHELIN Guide, meaning it offers excellent food at a good price point. Here, you’ll enjoy upscale Indian cuisine with ingredients sourced from Chef Niven Patel’s own family farm. Other good dining options in Kendall include Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Bar from acclaimed restaurateur Adrianne Calvo and Café Catula Fine Restaurant and Art Gallery, which merges fine dining and fine art.
Outdoors lovers also enjoy Kendall, which is also home to Killian Greens Golf Club and Briar Bay Golf Course. For family-friendly outdoor fun, head to one of Kendall’s many parks. Kendall Indian Hammocks Park offers two disc golf courses, a playground, an Action Sports Plaza for skaters (with ramps, rails and stairs) and nature trails that wind through a tropical hardwood hammock.
Visitors of all ages will enjoy Zoo Miami, spanning nearly 750 acres with more than 500 animal species from around the world, including the Americas, Africa, Australia and Asia. For another unique family outing, visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum to learn about the area’s locomotive history and see more than 40 passenger cars, freight cars and antique railway equipment.
If you’re looking for a cool way to entertain the kids, hit the public skating sessions at the Kendall Ice Arena or hang out at the retro Arcade Odyssey, where kids-at-heart can play a game of Frogger while sipping on a craft brew. (There are more than 60 choices on tap.)
