Miami Beach Urban Studios

Open since 2011, Miami Beach Urban Studios (MBUS) is the realized vision of FIU’s College of Communication, Architecture + Arts (CARTA). It serves as a multi-disciplinary creative space and collider for design, arts and technology affiliated with FIU’s CARTA. As a cultural anchor of the City of Miami Beach, MBUS offers year round programming that showcases contemporary art by national and international artists, FIU’s visual arts students and university faculty/staff. Its three galleries host a robust schedule of events that include special performances, contemporary art talks, lectures, workshops, panel discussions and more. In addition to public programming, MBUS features classroom space for CARTA, research/innovation space, performance spaces for music and theatre students and its Knight-sponsored SOA Innovation Lab, one of the largest 3D printing labs in the country.

MBUS is located on Lincoln Road, in the heart of South Beach, a short walk from other cultural art venues. Visitors are welcome from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM during weekdays or after hours during public events.
