Apr 26, 2025
The Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida concludes its 24/25 season with the Spring Gala at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 3 p.m. This thoughtfully curated program bridges the artistry of ballet and opera, offering audiences a unique blend of performance styles.
The evening opens with Harlequinade, a one-act ballet originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to Riccardo Drigo’s evocative score. This lighthearted tale of Harlequin and Columbine is complemented by an aria that underscores its whimsical charm. The program continues with selections from Vladimir Issaev’s La Favorita, seamlessly interweaving dance with Donizetti’s celebrated operatic narrative.
Additional highlights include Markitanka (La Vivandière), choreographed by Saint-Léon to Cesare Pugni’s lively music, and a captivating pas de deux from La Traviata, performed to Giuseppe Verdi’s iconic score.
