Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration
May 24, 2025 - May 25, 2025
From: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Families are invited to engage with the stories and traditions of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures through a weekend of interactive programming at Miami Children’s Museum. Taking place on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration offers a wide range of hands-on activities designed to educate and inspire visitors of all ages.
Highlights include Samoan Hues, a textile art project exploring Samoan culture, and a craft station where guests can design wristbands inspired by traditional tatau patterns. Attendees can also try their hand at Jianzi, a dynamic Southeast Asian game focused on balance and agility. The weekend will feature a live Taiko drumming performance by Fushu Daiko and cultural activities led by Florida International University’s Japan Club, Chinese Club, Korean Club and Language Club.
Throughout the celebration, guests will have opportunities to connect with the diversity and richness of AAPI heritage through art, music and play. Activities are included with museum admission and will be offered throughout both days.
