Augmented Visions of the NatureVerse by [dNASAb]
Through Dec 31, 2024
From: 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Explore the intersection of art, technology and environmental awareness at Augmented Visions of the NatureVerse by [dNASAb], a captivating installation on view at The Betsy - South Beach from November 25 to December 31. Presented in collaboration with the City of Miami Beach’s No Vacancy Program, the Jorge Pérez Family Foundation CreARTE Program, and The Betsy Writers Room, this project offers a free, immersive experience that examines the fragility of marine ecosystems and the impact of human activity through cutting-edge techniques.
The installation includes projections on The Orb, a spherical structure transformed into a translucent water droplet that reveals an imagined microscopic ecosystem. These AI-assisted animations, derived from sculptures made of reclaimed plastic waste, blend natural and synthetic elements, inviting viewers to reflect on the interplay between pollution and marine life. Projections will light up The Orb on November 21 (opening), December 1–12, and December 31, after sunset.
In addition to the outdoor projections, Augmented Reality Activated Stills will be displayed as a window installation at The Betsy from November 21 through January 1, 2025. This component offers visitors an interactive visual exploration of microplastics and microorganisms, pushing the boundaries of environmental storytelling.
Through a mix of AI, sculpture and interactive media, Augmented Visions of the NatureVerse raises critical questions about the hidden impacts of pollution, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with nature and the environment.
