From: 11:00 AM to Noon
Explore the origins and evolution of an iconic design movement at The Wolfsonian - FIU, as part of the museum's Art Deco Weekend lineup of engaging talks. On Saturday, January 18, Beyond Paris delves into the global impact of the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, where Art Deco was born. The Wolfsonian's chief curator, Silvia Barisione, will guide attendees through the stylistic journey of Art Deco, highlighting its defining geometric forms, symmetry and sleek aesthetics. Drawing from the museum’s extensive collection, the presentation will showcase how the movement evolved as it spread worldwide, adopting unique regional influences along the way.
Presented in collaboration with the Miami Design Preservation League, this event is free with registration.
