Feb 09, 2025
From: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Love and environmental stewardship come together in a hands-on workshop that celebrates both nature and the spirit of Valentine's Day. The Blooming Hearts: Seed Bomb Activity for Families takes place on Sunday, February 9, at Vizcaya Village, located within the historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
During this Valentine's-themed workshop, participants craft heart-shaped seed bombs containing Florida wildflower seeds, contributing to local ecosystem health by creating new habitats for pollinators, birds and wildlife. The activity combines environmental education with therapeutic horticulture, offering benefits that range from stress reduction through clay work to fostering social connections among participants.
Led by certified horticultural therapist Joanna Brown, this free workshop introduces visitors to the principles of therapeutic horticulture while providing all necessary materials for the seed bomb creation. Brown brings extensive experience in horticultural therapy, including work with behavioral health centers and various community organizations throughout Florida.
Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
