Buster Keaton's The General

Step back in time with an immersive screening of Buster Keaton’s The General on Friday, April 18, 2025, at UM Gusman Concert Hall. As part of the Frost School of Music’s Signature Series, this Silent Film Night offers a rare opportunity to experience Keaton’s classic silent film with a live orchestral performance. Emmy-winning composer Jeff Beal, known for his work on House of Cards and Monk, conducts the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra in performing his original score for the film. Beal’s composition, blending action, humor and jazz rhythms, accompanies Keaton’s famous stunts, adding new depth to the iconic 1926 film.
