Miami City Ballet premieres a fresh take on the classic tale of Carmen from April 25-27 at the Arsht Center.

In-demand choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa brings her unique perspective to this world premiere, drawing inspiration from her Colombian-Belgian heritage and extensive dance background. Ochoa, known for her captivating narrative ballets, reimagines the iconic opera Carmen for a contemporary Miami audience.

This timeless story of passion, jealousy and tragedy has captivated audiences for over a century. Ochoa's interpretation promises to be both sensual and spirited, echoing the heat of Carmen's Spanish origins while resonating with modern South Florida sensibilities.
