CHOPIN Salons: Eric Lu
Apr 27, 2025
Starting: 04:00 PM
World-class piano mastery brings Chopin's compositions to life in an intimate salon setting. The CHOPIN Salons: Eric Lu event will take place on Sunday, April 27 at the historic Miami Beach Woman's Club. This elegant gathering features Eric Lu, first prize winner of the 9th National Chopin Piano Competition, performing selected works by Frédéric Chopin.
The performance showcases Lu's exceptional artistry that has earned him international acclaim. After beginning his career as a Laureate of the 2015 International Piano Competition in Warsaw at just 17 years old, Lu went on to become the first American since Murray Perahia to win First Prize at The Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018. His accomplishments include receiving the 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant and serving as a BBC New Generation Artist. As an exclusive Warner Classics recording artist, his acclaimed recordings of Schubert Sonatas and Chopin's 24 Preludes have established him as one of today's finest interpreters.
Lu's impressive performance history includes appearances with leading orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, London Symphony and Boston Symphony, collaborating with renowned conductors including Riccardo Muti and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla. Born in Massachusetts in 1997, he is a graduate of the Curtis Institute, where he studied under Robert McDonald, Jonathan Biss and Dang Thai Son.
The evening begins with the concert, followed by a wine reception for all attendees. Guests can also opt for a catered dinner, providing an opportunity to interact with the artist and socialize with fellow music enthusiasts.
Tickets for the concert and wine reception are available for $50, while the complete experience including dinner is priced at $125 per person (tax and service fees included). Chopin Foundation Members receive complimentary admission and can request their member code by contacting the foundation directly.
