Conchita Espinosa Academy Festival of the Arts
May 17, 2025
Starting: 6:00 PM
Witness the transformative power of arts education through the performances of young artists at various stages of their creative journey. The Conchita Espinosa Academy Festival of the Arts will take place on Saturday, May 17 at the Adrienne Arsht Center, continuing a tradition that began in Havana, Cuba in 1933.
This celebration features over 350 young performers, including the Conchita Espinosa Youth Orchestra and Choir with more than 100 musicians, alongside a cast of over 250 dancers ranging from ages 3 to 18. The festival's theme, Raices, explores the process of artistic growth—highlighting the dreams, choices, risks and achievements of these developing artists while emphasizing our connections with nature and each other.
The event represents the culmination of work between students and a faculty of internationally recognized dancers, choreographers, musicians and visual artists. As a biennial tradition that has continued in Miami since 1963, the festival embodies Conchita Espinosa's educational philosophy that all children deserve comprehensive education in both academics and the arts.
